Come drum with Jafar Manselle and the Wendell Warriors. No experience necessary - if you have a heartbeat, you can drum!

Participants will learn basic notes on the drums and will then be taken slowly through how to play simple rhythms that eventually combine into amazing songs played together as a group.

Drums will be provided. Space is limited and registration is required. For ages 14-Adult.

Jafar Manselle is the leader of The Wendell Warriors--a performance drum class formed five years ago. Over the past 35 years, Jafar has performed throughout New England with many Boston-based dance troupes. Over the same time period he has taught drumming in the Boston and Cambridge Public Schools. He now works with the Five Colleges as an accompanist for African Dance classes. Jafar also plays in a Boston-based jazz band and a reggae band here in Western Mass called "Root Jiyah."
